Crafton Wins First In Wild, Lowe's Finish

Berlin Saturday, May 17: Schools, Scouts & Speed
The evening will feature the Engine Pro Super Stocks (75 Laps), De-Jay Slick Truck Pro Stocks, Instant Cash Advance Sportsman and Burnips Equipment 4-Cylinders. It’s Girl Scout Night and Reading Club Night. Also on the card are School Bus Races (Drivers: Travis Nylaan, Andrew Nylaan, Dave Cutler, Billy Krupp, Dave Marshall) and an Electric Car Race and an on-track autograph session with Sportsman and Super Stock drivers! Tickets are $12 for adult general admission, $6 for kids 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under. Pit passes for those 14 and over are $25. Gates open at 12:15 p.m. and the first race begins at 7 p.m.

Racer Donnie Nelson critically injured
GALESBURG, Mich. (WOOD) -- Race car driver Donnie Nelson was critically injured after the throttle on his car stuck open, forcing his car into the wall at the Galesburg Speedway Saturday night.
Nelson, 44, is in a coma with brain and spinal damage. A specialist is on the way to Borgess Hospital from Ann Arbor.
According to an update on the Galesburg Speedway website, "He has a very serious neck injury involving the bone that connects the brain stem to the spine which is broke. They have compared this injury to the type that Earnhardt Sr. died from. If the bone in his neck would have broken any lower it would have killed him instantly they said. FULL STORY
